Zeus

Zeus was founded by Luis Arregui in Eibar, Spain in 1926. Zeus was the only company in modern times to build a complete professional bicycle (frame and all components).

Their bike’s construction were normally traditional in design but most distinctive in their use of Zeus components. Components, which although criticized as rip-offs of Campagnolo designs, produced some of the most exotic equipment of the era.

Zeus was a bonafide player in the world of fine cycling for decades, sponsoring many Spanish teams during that time. In 1973 Luis Ocana won the Tour de France riding a Zeus. The company eventually succumbed to market forces in the early 1980s.

The brand has been recently re-launched by Orbea
