Sibbit
John Ephraim Sibbit, was born in Manchester in 1895. He was cycling competitively before WWI when he was conscripted to serve in the Royal Navy Air Service. He was demobbed in 1919 when he started cycling again.
In 1928, whilst still competing, Jack opened his first bike shop in Manchester making frames and by 1936 at the age of 41 he held twelve national titles and his frames were sort after by top track cyclists.
During WW2 Jack worked in a local vehicle factory and opened another shop in 1945 where he worked until his death in 1950 when his son Jack jnr took over. The business ceased trading in 1962.
