Paratella

Born in 1912 Corrado Paratella was a racing cyclist during the 1930s alongside team mate and long time friend Tulio Campagnolo.  He opened his shop at 7 Via Cuneo in 1946  and was one of that extraordinary generation of craftsmen who worked in Turin between the late 40s and the  1980s. Beltramo, Pelà, Picchio and the Giamè brothers were all colleagues and competitors but above all friends ready to share ideas.

A trusted consultant of Tullio Campagnolo, who often went to Paratella’s workshop to show him the latest innovation and get valuable technical advice.

His creativity in the construction of the frames made Paratella a leader in the manufacture of steel road, cyclocross and track bikes in Italy.

Favoured by Italian champions such as Defilippis and much sought after by the riders of France and Spain, he built bikes and worked as a mechanic for many professional teams, in international competitions on the road as well as on the track. He limited production to a maximum of around 2 frames per month and continued working in his shop until shortly before his death in 1994.

Paratella frames are very difficult to find and highly sort after.
