Mattolini

Cicli Mattolini was founded in Sesto, Firenze, in 1950s by Matteo Mattolini. Matteo was a typical small volume artisan builder with his own workshop and retail outlet.

His components were often heavily drilled and modified for lightness and individuality. He was the only builder we know who stamped both the frame’s seat tube and top tube measurements on the underside of the bottom bracket shell.

The shop is still at the same address today, run by Matteo’s son Giacomo, who was not involved in the cycle business when Matteo was alive and now the business is solely for the sale and maintenance of motorcycles and scooters.
