Harry Hall

Harry Hall was an ex amateur racing cyclist who set up his shop in Manchester in 1956. He was renowned for his mechanical skills and between 1962 and 1976 provided the UK’s first neutral service vehicles at many British events. He was also Tommy Simpson’s mechanic at the ill fated 1967 Tour de France and team mechanic for the British national team at many events around the world.

Hall was known for his active promotion of racing cyclists by providing them with racing machines although not totally altruistically. Cyclists earned credits for results and being featured in magazines etc which were redeemed against the price of their bike!!

His eponymous branded bikes where built by respected frame builders in the area.

Harry passed away in 2007 but Harry Hall Cycles continues to be a successful business in Manchester run by Harry’s son Graham.
