The Tricolore & Vuelta models were introduced in 79

The frames were made from Vitus top of the range tubing and Vitus lug.  The Vuelta was equipped with Shimano 600 arabesque groupset where as the Tricolore model was equipped with all french components from the coop brand Spidel which took the best parts of all of the french component manaufacturers and put them under one brand as a last ditch attempt to stay off the impending dominance of Shimano.

Aswell as a full SPIDEL groupset this one has mavic handlebars and stem, MAVIC G40 clincher rims and to ensure a full french build, the cables, tyres and bar tape are also sourced from surviving french manufacturers.
